What do you do to let someone know their irritating you?

I notice I give snappy short answers and the evil eye(long cold glare) instead of just saying shut TFU!!

Answer:
...what's irritating to you darling?...may not be noticeably irritating to all others really! Your own "threshold of discomfort" will always be different from everyone elses anyways. Learn to be able to control your own emotional responses and disturbances within yourself darling. You have absolutely no control and no direction with anyone elses...that belongs to them...believe me when I say this darling...cause it's true. Keep things on the upward honest and concise side of your own indifferences to certain stimulus. Your own mental and physical reactions might possibly be irritating to someone else as well! Are we cool hun?
I start ripping on them. If they don't get the hint, the gloves come off. You can stop when they're crying.
..I just tell them. It's called giving feedback. I have a right to tell people how I feel when they're bothering me, and it's their problem if they don't like it.

"Hey, I know you're excited about what happened and it would be fun to talk about it, but now's a bad time. I have to do this and get it done, and if I try to listen it will distract me. How about we talk about it later?"

"Look, it really bothers me when people talk about other people behind their back. I'd appreciate it if you change the subject."

Or if it's someone I can't stand, I just break it off. "Excuse me...I have something urgent I have to do and I gotta go. Later..." And I walk away or hang up the phone.

Better than striking out at people because I feel irritated by them.
sometimes STFU is best, if ur really irritated and dont care if they wont like u later or if theyre a friend who needs some friendly critique.
I tend to start ignoring them if they're talking to me. I give short "Sure, " "Whatever, " "Uh huh" answers and I avoid eye contact so they'll hopefully leave me alone.
Yeah, but just because they happen to annoying you doesn't mean they are annoying everybody.
Would you like to try something that might have a better chance or working? People react negatively to negative treatment. Instead, try really looking at the person and what they are trying to accomplish. Maybe they are trying to be clever, liked or accepted. Once you have a little empathy in your heart say something like " I know that you are just (fill in the blank) but I really get annoyed because (fill in the blank)." Then suggest a constructive alternative. If you credit people with a positive motive and take some responsibility for being annoyed they are more likely to want to change. That becomes a win/win situation if you both run with it. What have you got to lose?
First, try to give them some subtle body language cues and a few non-committal and terse replies.

If that tactic fails, look them straight in the eyes and state that their current actions are irritating you. Then, ask calmly if the subject can be changed.

If they choose to continue the irritation, just calmly walk away. Sometimes, you just need to let it be.
less u talk the bettr, eyes the best
simply tell them. if its a true friend they will understand.
Be blunt but not rude. Works every time
Just tell me girl, get it of your chest. Seriously, I am bad, I ignore people.
I give them the silent treatment, looks that could kill work as well also.
