I have a phobia of talking on the telephone...why?
I also have a fear of expressing emotions; especially on the telephone.
Anyone help?
Answer:
It can happen to anyone of us! There are times when we need to talk personally to the person on the phone. It is necessary depending on the matter or issue that we want to discuss or communicate to the other person. However, there are times when text or sms is alright, depending on the matter or situation that we are in. Thank to the modern technologies that is available for us to communicate easily to people! However, these technologies should not hinder us from being person-oriented.
If you like to get healed from your phobia, try to go back to the past and see what contributed to your phobia talking on the telephone. Once you've spotted/recalled it to mind, reconcile with the 'not so good happening' over the phone and be grateful for such an experience. By accepting 'it' you recognise the phobia and slowing you'll get over your phobia.
Im like that too sweety its ok, we all are different.
I am the same way. I find it easier to express my emotions over a text message/email than over the phone. I think it is because I have time to word out what i am saying. I hate the awkward silence while on the phone.

If it really bothers u see a psych.

are you afraid of running out of things to talk about, or of awkward silences that could crop up and embarrass you?
if that's it -- or even if its about something else -- its quite normal, i know a lot of people with that problem, and i don't particularly like speaking on the phone either. don't fret about it, nothing weird!
