Why do poor people buy very expensive things - part 2?
sorry, i didn't add detail to the first question i had asked.
-money wise: rich people can buy expensive things because they can afford it since they have more of this than poor people.
I guess a second question I should attach to this question is, *How do you define a Poor person?*
Answer:
the answer is very simple - because they want to feel important and special
it's human nature - we all want to feel important - so they figure that if they buy something that a rich person has that they are as important as the rich person
What expensive items do "poor" people buy? If you're thinking Audi, BMW then they are not poor, but a plasma telly out of rip-off merchants Brighthouse will cost a fiver a week for a million years.
Well.
Lower class-minimum wage or below.
Middle class-average
Upper Class-Millions
And define, "very expensive things," because I haven't really heard of that. And there IS a poor in spirit, and a poor in wealth. You can be poor. And actually, for homeless people, it might not be their fault any number of things could have happened for them to be poor. So don't so they have no excuse, because that won't help them off the street. And you can be rich if you make a certain amount of money. I go to a private school and like, everyone can afford what we want.
poorness is only defined by the way we feel about our self..
Of course there is no excuse for living in filth,or squalor, but there is a bit of comfort and pride that can be taken in trying to lift ourself above our own station.
I have seen what you are reffering to..
I say"live and let live"..
Its really none of our business how others live, unless they are harmful to us..
If a person who is on food stamps, goes out and buys a $30.00 bottle of shampoo,,maybe that expensive shampoo will give them a bit of a boost psycologically and they will have the self confidence needed to land a really great job!!
Or if someone who is on gov assistance goes and gets a brand new car on credit,,,maybe the car willl be the catylist needed to get out and be someone and actually be a productive member of society.
I think it has to do with the basic idea of have and have not. Meaning, if a person can afford whatever they want, they probably dont long for much material stuff. However, if you havent had much in life and you now have a chance to obtain it, i think the urge could be very overpowering.
someone who can barlely afford the appartment they are living in,,, someone who can barly afford to feed thier kids...
I suppose thats dirt poor...
regular poor, would be somone who can't afford the latest fashions, or who take a bus cause they can't afford a car. someone who whas 3 kids and a wife and are living in a one bedroom appartment...
