What's the deal with personality tests attached to online applications?
I've just filled out 3 or 4 online applications(best buy, borders, etc.) What do these tests tell the employer? is there anywhere online I can take one to find out what my results are showing?

I want to tell you the most important thing about these tests. More than anything they are personality consistency tests. This is why they ask you the same questions four or five different ways. The result of the test given to the employer is a consistency score, not the actual answers or what kind of dishonest thief you may be. The point of the test is see if you flaky enough to answer the same question 5 different ways.
To score well on this test, answer consistently. If you say you would steal, always say that. If you answer how honest and upstanding you are, then answer all the questions that way. Don't take too much time to consider every possibility and the context of every situation they put forth in the questions in the test. They are trying to trip you up by getting you to say it's OK to fool around under these conditions, but it's not OK under these other conditions. Answer that you never ever fool around under any condition. Or that you Always do. Answer that you never steal or are tardy, or answer that you are a criminal. It doesn't matter which way you go, so long as you go the SAME way in every answer.
We don't mind hiring tardy irresponsible thieves... just not flaky crazy thieves. :-)
