What does ''Trensferrence'' mean in psychology?

Answer:
"the process by which emotions and desires originally associated with one person, such as a parent or sibling, are unconsciously shifted to another person, especially to the analyst"
transference basically means your projecting your thoughts about something or someone on to someone or something else. such as if a mother wanted to be a hollywood actress and she enviably failed, when she had a child she transferred her desires on to her child to be a successful actress.
Transference is what a client brings into therapy from the outside, and puts onto the therapist. Basically, it is the phenomanon where a client will place attributes on the doctor because they see them as similar to another. For example a client has had a rude father, and sees the therapist as a father figure, so will start attributing interactions to the therapist being rude. This happens on some level in all therapy. This is also why Freud wanted to remain a blank slate, so the transference process would take on the form of whatever the client's problem was.
