Half awake half asleep?
have you ever been told that you did somthing that you had no memory of in the night. Like sleepwalking but like for an example (my dad told me to go up to bed since it was late so he says i got up and walked up the stairs) I have no memory of this at all and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to and if you can get people to do things for you when they are in this state of mind? Thanks
Answer:
The worst I ever did was drive my truck 60 miles from Grand Rapids to Lansing.. absolutely no remembrance of it.
I have heard of a lot of people doing things they don't remember later in their sleep, but I have never heard of anyone taking a command in their sleep. Doesn't mean it's not possible though. I think in your circumstances I might consult a neurologist for a sleep study and an EEG, since there might be something going on brain or seizure wise.
this may happpen if you are taken certain sleeping pills, have certain sleep disturbances, narcolpsy, or some forms of epilepsy - not like grand mal seizures.
Yea, it's not possible for you to remember what happened if you did something while you were sleeping.
Sleepwalking, sleeptalking happens during our stage 4 of sleep - when we're in deep sleep.
Our mind is shut down the most, but our body can still move, so it's possible that you can do something and not remember about it.
that happened once to my sister. She got up out of her sleep, came down the stairs, went out the front door, around the house and back in thru the back door and up the stairs and back into bed...and she never knew it. That's scary because it presents a security problem as well. And I don't know what would have happened if they woke her in the middle of her walk. My parents were safety conscious and aware of every move we made so that helped a lot to ease the the fright of it all. But these days there are sleeping pills that put you out so well that people have driven their cars during the night and even had accidents, and even got up like one trucker did and drove a few states away and delivered the truck's load and never remembered what he did till his boss called to say he delivered the wrong load. So I'm thinking there is mind altering going on and I don't know if it's a kind of alergic reaction to something we eat or what (I know the mind can be altered by pills, smoking things, etc.) but it came as a surprise to people that the dream state could be affected as well, so I suspect those things are being studied as we converse. I don't know about people being made to do things while asleep, I only know that they do what they want to do during sleep. I once heard that if you ask your husband a question during his sleep while holding his hand he would respond truthfully. Not so, that doesn't work. He didn't respond at all. That leads me to believe that a person is only aware of themselves when in sleep mode.
