I am totally set on becoming a child psychologist....
im only 13 but im totally set on being a child psychologist people in my form say im only interested in it coz of the money but i dont even no how much they get.Does anybody know?i just want to be able to help kids in the way that my psychologist helped me (my mum referred me when she thought i was depressed about moving)

its not that easy getting into psychology I'm still struggling and i left university 3 years ago but I'm getting good experience i would advise you to get as much voluntary experience as you can and do psychology as a level if your still keen then do your BSc degree and get more experience then apply for the doctorate follow your dreams and ignore your friends.

It's a very demanding but rewarding job. The pay is very good too. Psychologists charge up to $150 an hour. Just imagine if you had your own practice!

Do you fully understand the job? These children really need help, and you will see things that will break your heart! You will have to comfort these children whatever their problem may be. You will get children who were molested, beaten, etc. It's sheer terror! To know this stuff happens in the world.
And often times in these cases, you will have to testify against people in court on behalf of the child.
Child psychologist have to be better at what they do than regular psychologist, due to the fact that they are dealing with younger people.but all in all, it's actually a very fullfilling career, to know that you've helped even one is worth it.
Did you ever watch 'Sixth Sense'? Bruce Willis is a child psychologist in that movie.
You and every other 19 year old on the planet wants to be a child psychologist. You actually do need to concern yourself with the money because eventually you are going to need to support yourself. Going to school for all the years it takes to be a psychologist is expensive and you will have to be able to pay back your student loans. The pay rate depends on where you are in the country, how popular you are, how many other psychologists are in the area you practice. There are alot of variables involved. Also, keep in mind that what they charge is not what they make, since they're expenses are so high.
when the time comes you can get student loans and grants, remember...where theres a will theres a way and i totally see you doing it.tell your mom how can it be about the money if you dont even know how much they make!
