Whay is loosing your virginity the same as loosing your innocence?
I don't really understand how you associate the two.
And I understand the big deal of loosing your virginity, but whats up with innoence. When you think about it virginity seems more like your just having sex, loosing your innoncence seems more like making love...Anyway I need to know how you get innoncence out of virginity. Because I thought innocence being lost was when you did something wrong or dirty, a crime...
Answer:
because sex completes the transformation from a girl to a woman/young adult. And everyone thinks of little kids as innocent. Its a way of coming of age.
loosing your virginity?! WTF Was it tied in a knot or something along with your innocence. I'd say unloosen it?
NO
because you were innocent before you did anything!!!
just a saying. society compares sex w/ being dirty.
I think it's kind of the opposite. Just sex would be losing your innocence, it is dirty if it's not making love. sex without love is dirty and problematic. making love is a natural part of life that happens and makes ppl closer together.
i dont love is crazy like sex sweetie ..
innocence, shminnocence...they are all just a bunch of terms...It's all just a matter of linguistics, really...
it all falls in the sampe page... you casue it has nothing to do with making love if it happens then it automaticaly falls into it. or at least thats waht i think.
People imply that you lose your sexual innocence with the loss of your virginity, but GENERAL INNOCENCE to me, is something altogether different. I was naive and innocent of the ways of people long after I lost my virginity.
Some things are only learnt with experience.
Good luck
you could be innocent and not be a virgin. You could be a virgin and not innocent. get it? boys can be innocent and has nothing to do with sex. let this be a lesson about the depth of the great English language. Subltle, complex, requires much more than knowing how to spell and the simplistic definition of words.
I think the two are so intertwined because before sex, I think people are sort of young, naive, protected in a sense. I know before I ever had sex, I had a much different understanding of the world, of dating, of how relationships work, etc. It probably doesn't help when you lose your virginity to a guy who turns out to be a total jerk, but either way... innocence was lost. Sex complicates things and it's usually not in a way that anyone would consider "innocent."
read the bible, lose it only to your husband! i was young and dumb once!
wish i would have waited!
Funny, I was thinking about this myself yesterday.
I came to the conclusion that it's just a word thing. Think about it, can you see your grandmother "losing her virginity"? Or can you see her "losing her girlhood innocence"?
Ahhhh. see... it's just an old word thing. Like how grandma used to be "gay" and now, your odd cousin Kevin, the one who wears dresses, is the one described as "gay".
You are guilty now. Sex is a guilty pleasure. And no, sex before marriage is not a sin, don't believe in that religion BS. Don't get brain-washed like all those other people.
That comes from an old view of innocence.
Innocence was just being without experience (not necessarily sexual experience) as life goes on you gain experience and loose innocence. You gain knowledge and loose ignorance/being naive.
So not having the knowledge of your own sexuality was a form of innocence.
Loosing your innocence became a slang for loosing your virginity.
That's religions for you. They try and make sex dirty.
You''re right, innocence has little to do with virginity. Innocence is a state of mind, so you can have a virgin who is totally not innocent, masturbating 5 times a day and having all sorts of sexual fantasies, and you can have a girl who is totally innocent who has sex just as you'd have an ice cream or a lolly without any real sexual intent.
having ur virginity is inocense ,if u lose ur virginity when your not suppose to then your not innocent no more because you participated in sin with free will,
You are no longer "A child", thus you have lost that innocent quality. Sex is not a game. It is life at it's most raw and it brings with it responsibilities that can change your whole world. It can bring adult decisions and can adult laws down on you no matter what age you are. It can being the opinions of others to bear on your life. Like it or not. After you have done it once, you are labeled for the rest of your life. Out of wedlock, you are a sl*t. With the marriage, you are a blushing bride. Think about it. What is innocent about a sl*t?
This is why it is called innocence lost.
innocence is a child that doesnt even know what virginity is .You dont understand sex or have even know the first thing about it .Having sex before marriage and knowing that you arent going to be together for the rest of your life. Its like an old time saying .If your young it probably is hard now a days to understand the term.It was polite at one time to say may I hold your hand now times have changed.
~First, I have to correct your spelling, it's driving me crazy!
"Why is losing your virginity the same as losing your innocence?"
When you are young, you are innocent. You don't know about sexual intercourse.
Having sexual intercourse is losing your virginity, unless you knew nothing of it in the first place.~
lol .. this is really good ..and i never thought of it that way b4... anyways.when u r a virgin... u r termed untouched..... a maiden.. inexperienced...thus innocent. once u have had sex u have gained experience and making love is just having sex with someone u love, thus u cant really be called inexperienced again... i hope u r getting me...lol.... anyways 'loosing your innocence' is just a term used mostly by older folks to make u feel guilty after having sex
It's just a figure of speech and perhaps a testament to the excessive amount of importance we place on sex. I remember when I lost my virginity at 15. It felt good, but I was disappointed. I thought I would feel more, like I had accomplished something or gotten closer to manhood but I didn't. All I did was copulate. Before that age, I'd been homeless, seen my mother attempt suicide, and been beaten to unconsciousness, among other things. I lost my innocence way before I lost my virginity.
