You know what i've noticed, Do you agree? Say why.?

It seems as though all the powers in the universe are working together to encourage overweight people to lose weight.

1) We all need jobs to pay for our survival. Yet it has been demonstrated consistently shown in many studies that overweight people tend to experience more discrimination in employment than people within a healthy weight range.

2) Social life - If you've seen the Tyra show when she went undercover as an obese woman you'll notice how rudely she is treated in public access places. Places like these would include: restaurants, bars, on buses, trains and airplanes.
Ask any obese person and they'll tell you about rude looks and comments made by clerks and sales persons. Blatant discrimination.
3) Things seem to have been made with the concept that fat people don't exist : toilet seats, airplane seats, clothes - and can we say CLOTHES!! Jeez it's easier to find a bedazzled jumper for your dog than decent lingerie for a size 14 woman.

Answer:
I disagree with you. I think that society and the media push the idea on us (meaning women mostly) that "THIN IS BEAUTIFUL" and that is not always true. Healthy is beautiful, regardless of what your weight is.

There are many women who were size 14 or size 24 who are is good health and work out, and other women who are thin and "beautiful" by society/media standards but are not in good shape health-wise. So being healthy is the point.NOT what some number says on your shirt/skirt/pants tag or what some scale says!

There are many beautiful clothes now made for ample sized women now and Lane Bryant is not the only one. It isn't just clothes anymore.knitting and sewing patterns are coming out in larger sizes, you can find stores online that cater to many sizes online if they aren't in your town...you don't need to look hard either (I put some links below).

For your information..many of us are very comfortable with our bodies the way they are. I am probably what you would call "FAT" by your standards (I'm 5'2" tall and wear a size 16) but I work out 3-4 times a week at Curves, have lost almost 9 inches in the first month, my husband loved my size before I started working out and still loves it now. He knows I started working out for my health (high cholesterol, Dr. orders). He likes a woman with a "little meat on her bones" and not some skinny thing like the media tells us is "beautiful". I know he means this because I was heavier when he married me..so beauty is not always about weight and size..expand your mind and learn to accept yourself as you are, instead of allowing society to put it's unattainable demands on you. You will lead a happier life..I do.
yep, cause fat people arent normal, human body is not meant to be so big, and squishy, they eat more than is necessary, so they pay the consequences...
besides theyre just unnatractive and give off a bad vibe, people dont want to be around them....
I used to be fat and it was not appealing at all, it makes you feel like sh*t, took me two years to get in shape but its worth it for not feeling like sh*t anymore..so yeah environment is and needs to be made in a way that discourages obesity
Yes, I agree, because I have thought about alot of those things myself.
I do agree, although I don't consider a size 14 obese unless you're 4 feet tall. Working in the health care industry, I've noticed most people with disabilities (on average) are extremely overweight. Because I deal with extremely obese people on a daily basis, I know they are just like anyone else and I treat them the way I would anybody. Oh, by the way, Lane Bryant carries beautiful plus size clothing, and yes, that includes lingerie.
First of all I agree with you that slim look a lot more beautiful and easily accepted in the society.
Secondly, all the things in the Universe are big. The nebula is big. The supernova is big. The sun is big. The star is big. All the planets have to be big enough to be called a planet. Hey ! Even the Universe itself is big and is expanding even !
And when you are as famous as Bush, you get to be called the BIGGG person.
So big is in. Small is out.
Yes i totally agree with you.
Most people interpret obese people as unmotivated, weak and undisciplined. This is ignorance on their part. Not always, but obese people often eat too much because of underlying problems. This is not a laughing matter, but a painful one. There are millions of people out there on Prozac to overcome inner problems, but if they are a normal weight, no one disrespects them, but obese people are looked down upon for the same inner conflicts because it shows on the outside. To make matters worse, obese people eat more because of the loneliness they feel and the way they are treated. It's just plain ignorance.as simple as that!!
