Yes, it is a true community. Years ago, when people really talked to each other and knew each other, you could learn these things in your community..from the guys at the barber shop, the gals at the hairdresser, etc. People in modern times are more guarded and do not communicate as much as they used to. So, this site fills the gap.it is a virtual community.

The main problem is the Wiki effect. There are plenty of people who can provide answers, but you've no idea whether they are experts, tellers of old wives' tales, politically motivated liars, or if they've just made something up to get 2 points (thank you).
at always by yah there are alot of smart people on here but u have to be careful when u are looking for info expecally the medical stuff cuz it is very possible that if someone says something doesnt mean its right!!

i have actually found it very interesting and the people who ask questions often have questions they would not normally ask IRL...i think it is a great opportunity and have been able to get some very good advice on a law situation which i didn't particularly want to go anyone about...just needed information
not always, i have seen the odd questions that no one has answered, i have had a look at a few and cant answer them so come back out, its seems too silly to leave a daft comment to get 2 points, but yes most of the time, and its nice to see different answers to same question, you look at things in a different way than you normally would, and you learn a lot

Just be careful and get a second opinion from an outside source to make sure you're getting accurate information.
I think it is also a great little community and most people are really helpful, friendly, caring and polite. We should all be proud of ourselves!
