*ReadMe* I'm competing in a county pageant. We have to give a speech...what do you think about this one?
When I was a little girl my father once told me...never go straight...go forward. I didn't understand it at first, but once I did I could never forget. From that day forward I always pictured life like a journey.
Have you ever tried going anywhere in a straight line without having to turn left, right or swerve. Sometimes the road might have a few bumps or curves. You might have to swerve to the left or to the right to make your way around these. Life's always going to have problems, just like the road's always going to have pot holes. Learn from these. You can look in that rear view mirror, but never never turn back. And if you need to, stop and ask for directions. A straight line will give you only a "dead end". Going forward will always bring you home.
So while traveling down this road we call life just remember what my father always tells me...Never go straight, go forward. Oh yea...And don't forget to buckle up! I hope you all enjoy the ride.

Tell the speech to other people, random people you find on the street if you can. see what they think or feel.
Be aware of the fact that "always go forward never go straight" was a bumper sticker of the 60's that referred to drug use.
Other than that I like the speech.
