Is falling in love really love or some sort of chemical reaction the mind produces?
Answer:
I think it is worse than a drug, love is very addicting, stay detached and never fall in love.
Read this website about the chemicals produced when in love..http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/neuro/ne...
I know you asked about falling in love, but take it a step further and when. a couple has sex, the brain releases Vasopressin, Oxytocin and Serotonin. Serotonin, has a calming and relaxing effect, and mixing like a drug cocktail with testosterone becomes like a sleeping pill for men, but with women who have low levels of testosterone, but higher levels of estrogen, it becomes the bonding pill, or the cuddle time. This effect is what causes women to form lasting bonds with men and in a sense causes them to become more faithful the more they get this cocktail. In a sense addicted to it.
I think it is hormonal.
Does it really matter?
I don't think love is a chemical reaction. I know that attraction is a chemical reaction, but you don't fall in love with every you think is hott right? I think that once the attraction escalates that your heart and your mind becomes in love. Any whoo, read the article and i think you'll find the answer your looking for

I believe in behaviorism and the power of emotions. Yes, in my mind love is a chemical reaction but I now find that it is based on perception and not intrinsic reality. Do not trust romantic love too easily. All women forget this and suffer in the end. I recently experienced this first hand. @8-)
I think chemistry plays a big part when it comes to falling in love. Or maybe is just magnetism. You know how they say opposite poles attract each other. The pheromones, also play a big part. I do not mean just like animals, but definitely aroma, skin attraction, scents, chemical addiction. I hope I made some sense.
