What is the difference between MISSION and VISION?
Answer:
Just like strategy vs. tactics.
The VISION is where you see your company going in the future. You never reach it, because the goal should be impossible. But you're always striving to reach it. Microsoft's old VISION was, "A computer on every desk." They're getting there.
The MISSION is how you go about achieving your vision. "We will offer the most affordable rates with proper rooms." The mission is what you're doing now to be the best and see your vision come to real life.
Make sense?
An "S", an "M" and a "V" from what I can tell.
A mission statment and a vision statement are very similar.
A mision statment indicates the best that a copany strives for with the resources it has.
A vision statement is the ultimate destintion of what the directors want the company to be.
most companies use them interchangably as both are identically worded.
Buff.
A MISSION is what you intend to DO -
A VISION is how you SEE it.
mission is an assigned or self-imposed duty or task;
while the vision is the ability to see or plan into the future.
For example
I am in a mission to serve my community.
I do not have any vision to see what will happen to me tomorrow.
