Is it normal for an abused child to not feel sour towards their parents?

I know someone who I think is being emotionally abused, but she won't tella anybody but me, and told me it's because she still loves her parents a lot and usually they're pretty normal. Is that normal or is she just not being abused?

Answer:
It's not about getting them in trouble, it's about

a) getting them to stop,

b) getting help for the abused.

You need to tell someone what's going on.

Your parents' getting therapy so they don't do it any more would be a good thing for them.

Your getting therapy to help you deal with your situation would be a good thing for you.

And, yes, it's common.

Though often it changes when one is grown up and on their own.

Then a lot of people become bitter.

It's the sort of thing that can ruin a person's whole life if they don't get help.
it is well documented that abused children feel sour towards their parents secretly but overtly are always trying to please the abuser.
Most young kids have an undying loyalty to their parents. And take a lot of abuse from the very ones who are suppose to protect them.
Many abused people develop a love or longing for the attention of their abusers. This is simple for the fact that it is the only thing that they know. Unfortunately your friend could be fibbing about the whole situation as a cry for attention also
Yes, kids think it's their fault, and they want to be loved so badly, that they still look up to their parents. Parents are gods to children.
