Do people really change when they go through couseling?
if they have a major problem with addictions, bad credit e.t.c
Answer:
what I think that the counselling does, it gives the person or person's concerned a new prospective, to deal with the problems differently, it empowers them to make the choices in their lives that are right for them.
so their quality of life is better. and they learn to look at thing and issues with a different point of view
Only if they want to change and are willing to make the effort to change.
As with any habit, they change if they truly want to change.
Most people do.
Most people tend to continue until they realize them self what their going through.
Change is a choice you make. Counselors and therapist give you unbiased information and help you see the other side of your situation. But unless you need to be medicated. It is up to you to decide to change. Change is always possible with an open mind.
depends if they go into it believing it will help them or not... if they are just forced to be there they will just mislead the counselor with lies and excuses
There are many variables to counseling working effectively. Are you willing to change is the first? Do you have a willingness to make the necessary changes or are you willful in that you want to change but will not make the changes necessary? Do you connect with your therapist? Are you committed to your goal? Are you ready for change?
These are just of the things needed to change and make therapy work.
