Anyone here yearns to discover the real "you" you were born to be?

Can you by yourself free yourself from your hang-ups and old baggages breaks free from the old past and all the obstacles and find himself ?
The chances are that in your despearation you have undergone various forms of therapy, and they have only made you more confused then you were in the first place.

Isn't that so?

Answer:
It'd take a lot for me to do that.
No, For ME it hasn't been so, I've been in and out of therapy based on several different circumstance in my life and each time I've been able to learn something valuable that has made my life better, I think that It would depend on why you went into therapy in the first place, and if you really wanted to learn something about yourself while you do. I have I discovered the person that I was supposed to be?? I never not knew who that person was. I've always wanted to be a mother and a person who worked with children and I have become both. I have three talented and beautiful daughters, I work helping children with LD's and I know that I've made a difference in several children's lives. What more could I want ?
Most of my depression is caused by chemical changes in my brain and can for the most part be dealt with with medication. My physical disability is more of a nuisance than anything else and my LD has pretty much been over come by reading and writing and using a spell check. I think that therapy for ME has helped enormously. When my depression was at it's worse and I wanted to commit suicide it saved my life.
Sometimes I wonder why our culture has become so much concerned with being separated from each other and being different.
Yes, each and everyone has the ability to change but most times it really takes seeing the problem through someone else's eyes.
Lets face it we are all on this planet together and we are all a part of the lives of those around us. We need each other.
Therapy will only work if the therapist gives you different views and solutions to change your thought process, and that you take the action to work it through.
For example if every time you see a red light you think of blood, and it bothers you then make a conscience effort to connect it with something more pleasing like Christmas or cherries. If you do this enough times your thoughts will stop you from connecting it with blood and focus on the directed thought of Christmas or cherries.
When faced with getting rid of an unwanted habit I frequently think of someone that is a role model and try to do what I would expect them to do. Emulate the strengths you see in others not the weakness. Surround yourself with people you respect not those you tolerate because you feel you need them for some reason.
Its not easy to change your thought process but if you are persistent it can be done.
