How important is revenge to you?

Let's say someone has really screwed you over. You are mad, hurt, embarrassed..All of it!
Do you forgive and forget or do you get even? AND, if you choose revenge... do you get them back worse than what they did to you? How far would you take it?

I am not being silly. Just trying to see where people stand.

Answer:
I don't believe in getting revenge, I am one of the believers that karma pays back evil deeds, much better than I ever could. I've seen it happen too many times. Sometimes it takes a while, but guaranteed, it happens. Not that that then makes me happy, but just a stronger believer.
I'm one of those "forgive and forget" people. I've been that way since I was very young - and though I don't recommend it if they've seriously screwed you over, just don't do anything, but don't forgive.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I've always lived by that.
i don't forgive and forget. me, i'm just a little too nice. i give some people more than 2nd chance to rekindle friendships over. with some people, i've realized it doesn't work, so i say, "that's it, i'm done."
I am not a revenge seeking type of person nor am I a forgive and forgetter. I am one of those dwellers. I will give forgiving my best effort but I can't ever seem to forget. I will always go back and replay the situation(s) with my shouldas. It's not healthy, I am aware, it's just how I tick.
Revenge is something that crosses even the most mild-mannered minds, at times. Those of us who make the effort to think it through before acting on these impulses rarely go to that extreme. Personally, I try to take all the time that is necessary to think about the effects...how it would affect the person, the situation, innocent bystanders, and myself. Rarely is it profitable. It only hurts people and more often than not, backfires on the person who's seeking it. Not worth it. Besides, karma has a way of rectifying one's wrongs. We need not seek revenge. The universe has a way of righting itself. To want to take this action ourselves, be a party to it, or simply witness it, is selfish and destructive. In the end, it makes us feel bad about ourselves. We've sunk to the level of the person who's hurt us, only worse, because we considered ourselves to be above such behavior. It's bad for our karma, to say the least. But it sure is tempting, sometimes. Just my personal opinion.
I would like to take revenge on some people who have hurt me deeply however, I don't have the stamina to get even with them and it isn't for me to do that at all. I can forgive but I can't forget what they did. Is that the same as having revenge on them?
Honestly I think it's silly. Probably bec I'm not one known for it. I usually cut ties with people who hurt me and never speak to them again. I don't go out of my way to seek out revenge. It's a waste of my time.
Depends. I think there is a balance between Mary and Kali. they are both the same, in that we are both. Both need to be used at the right time. Forgiveness is much easier given when wounds are inflicted onto oneself, we can forgive that easier. Instruction, through the sword, is appropriate when someone or thing weaker is being victimized. Defense of others requires action. I do not easily forgive if someone hurts someone weaker (maybe disabled, elderly, a child, an animal, etc..) than the offender.
