My entire life, I've seen two images before I fall asleep?? Please answer, I really would like to know.?
As far back as I can remember(3 years old), on some nights I would see two images in my mind before I fell asleep.
They're both cartoons:
One is only of a face, the image is huge...its a face with few features and the lines are fuzzy and black. No color. He has a very, very wide nose and a line for a smile. Definitely looks like a cartoon, not an actual person.
The second is a small one. It's a boy with lots and lots of detailing, on the clothes, face...everything. The drawing lines are very, very thick and dark. He wears glasses. But once again-looks very cartoonish.
I never recall seeing either of those anywhere but they pop in my mind without me even thinking of it...and have my entire life. I just see the two images, one at a time.
I'm confused..why? and what could cause it? anybody else have something similar?
Answer:
I don't know what it means (sorry...) but I think its cool. I used to have night terrors when i was a kid. Ugh.. those are horrible
maybe they're stenciled on the back of your eyelids?
I have had recurring dreams but never just images that I can remember. Sorry I cant help.
well i'm not too experienced in this field, but i would say this is something from your sub-conscious that appear as images in your mind b4 u drift off to sleep...i would see a psychologist or a hypnotist if you want to get more concrete answers...but if you're not bothered by it, then its not much of a problem
Only you can answer the question.
Why don't you ask the images what they are here to tell you or teach you.
I wonder if you have ever seen these images as a very very young child. It can imprint. I would have flashes and sometimes dreams about little girls with metal jaws biting a woman tied up. turns out my parents thought we were a sleep in the back of the car during a drive in movie Barbarella, It took me 35 years to find out where that image came from. It does sound like you might want to check with your parents to see if they remember anything like it. But you also might want to check with some sort of professional:)
good luck
sometimes when you're a child, you are more drawn to cartoon figures because maybe thats what you understood. As you got older, maybe it was a comfort to you so your subconcious never altered the image. Maybe it made you feel less alone as a child before going to sleep.
I had dreams for a number of years from about the age of 2-3 on of a firey-flame like cartoonish character that could walk up buildings. He would always try (in my dreams of course) to get into our home. This went on for about 6 plus years and then just stopped one day. Although, it did come back 1 time in my late 20's. I was pretty scared as a kid but never told anyone because I think I knew he would never actually get in. If I was you I would have to try and find out why you always have the same recurring dream. The curiosity would bug me.
I'm just going to put it out there - if the images seem cartoonish the most likely explanation is that they came from cartoons you saw as a child, even if you don't remember them now. I know that's probably a more mundane answer than you were looking for, but it does at least make sense.
It's also possible that you have taken cartoon images and applied them to people you have known, thus rendering these people unrecognizable to your conscious mind.
Either way, I wouldn't read to much into these dreams. I myself have had amazingly vivid dreams of floating in orbit above the Earth, but I don't believe I've actually done so. Sorry if that's a bit of a letdown.
Hmm. I could not tell you who or what those figures are in your dreams, I do agree to look into your past at some sort of experience that could have left an imprint upon you as a young child.. Also while i am falling asleep have had many nights and days also where i could close my eyes and see things begin to form, the brain must always have order and it has a way of putting shades of black and grey or white into figures it can recognize.. Ex. clouds, clouds are just clouds but when you look up at them sometimes you can see things begin to take shape.. Eventually i began to harness this into making things i wanted to see appear (with my eyes closed) I began with objects and it was funny how i would think of something on purpose and it would appear, then i could focus on it and it would become really detailed. I started out with numbers (really easy) then moved onto faces or objects.. Maybe that is what you are experiencing, except in your case you have a memory that you always relive when you begin to fall asleep, so you get the same images.. hope that helps shed some light for ya!!
Sounds to me that you THINK you've never seen these images before. This is a version of Deja Vu. IMO you have seen these cartoonish images before BUT AS AN INFANT. You see as an infant you did not have the mental acuity to rationalize what it was you were seeing. Therefore it always stuck in your mind throughout adulthood as a unresolved conundrum.
You may have seen it on TV when mom put you in your crib. You may have seen it on a photograph, picture, or wall mural. It could have been real people that your infant mind was transitioning to a cartoon character(s) you watched as a baby. TV has an awful influence on children doesn't it?
If you have a life-partner have them watch you one night when you go into R.E.M. stage (rapid eye movement). This is when you are in deep sleep and dreaming. He/she will notice your eyeballs moving back and forth under your eye lids. Tell them to gently say "Your dreaming now. Take total control of it." . Condition yourself to look for this verbal clue that your in a dream and do whatever you like. You can even be a superhuman too.
Most humans have NO IDEA they are in a dream. Also during REM stage you are paralyzed and can't hurt yourself (evolution my butt!). Now while there question these cartoon characters. Ask them who they are. What's their names? Never be afraid of them or let them scare you. Remember in a dream you can make any object appear in your hand to use to defend yourself. I think 'toons are afraid of the chemical acetone as they are made of acetate film and can melt (i.e. Roger Rabbit movie?)? You'll always wake up if if gets too much for you anyway... That's why in 'falling dreams' we always wake up before hitting the ground...
When you wake up write them down IMMEDIATELY as you will shortly forget mostly EVERYTHING in the dream. If you don't recognize the names as an old friend or family member look them up on GOOGLE.com. The names may shed some light as to what you may have been looking at when you were a baby. However, baby's tend to butcher names badly so it may be just a fragment or partial name.
Good hunting!
The mind is very very complicated and alot of it we will never figure out. My guess would be that maybe you seen a cartoon or you drew some sort of cartoon as a lil child and it always brought comfort to you. So as you got older, it just became like a Safey Trigger to see it before you actually doze off. I would say go see a professional about it but if its happy and not scaring you, then dont try to figure out what it is, unless the curosity is just bugging you to much, which it would do that to me.
