Tweaking Out After Touching a Spider--Calming Techniques?

I just accidentally touched a huge spider, and I DO NOT deal with them well. I'm twitching pretty badly. How can I get that feeling out of my mind?

Answer:
you need to relax... put on some music or the television for at least a while right now, put something visual or listening friendly on so you can get the act out of your head... maybe put something on that you can laugh at, or maybe listen to a song you know all the words to and sing them.. you want to also take deep breaths, close your eyes and breath in through your nose out through your mouth, and keep doing this until you can notice you heart beat slowing and calming..

hope this helps!
Deep breathing exercises will likely calm you down. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Do this for several minutes (until you begin to feel relaxed). Visualize "happy" things.things that you enjoy.the ocean, forest, that kind of stuff. Good luck..I hate spiders too!
Instead of asking questions about the hairy scary little beast that felt so icky and fuzzy when you touched it and it sent real, measurable electrical signals through your skin and into your central nervous system of vile hatred for you and profound desire to suck your blood from your limp body as you sleep tonight, I recommend ANSWERING other people's questions for about an hour to get your mind off it. : )
