I messed up at my piano recidal and im really depressed about it. any advice?
i knew the songs like the back of my hand because i practiced them. it might of been because i was a little nervous or because i was playing a piano which was out of tune.
Answer:
the same thing happened to me. the best thing is to move on. everyone messes up sometimes. it might take a while, but if you keep thinking about it like i did, you'll end up quitting.
Practice..
Otherwise get back up again and remember how you did last time and think how you can improve it.
Good luck
Sweetheart, the best thing you can do, is really look back and laugh and say well, I tried and I played a piano that was outta tune great! Lol...
I have had some times like that too. I played Bari Sax and I loved it. I played in marching band and others as well but homecoming night, I was elected as court and had to march in my dress, well guess what. I tripped because I am only 5 f oot and the sax was taller than me.
I just laughed. If you let people know that you are ok with it, then it isnt a big deal but if you let them know you are bothered, they will continue to try to bring it up.

depressed? depressed people are like people who dont take action and yet want something. disappointment has some expectations that they didnt get so i dont know which you have but sounds more like disappointment than depressed well probably it was first disappointment then lead to depress. well anyways thats just theory total bs. know that the next time you can do better than this time.
the piano being out of tune can contribute to your messed up performance. whoever let you guys use a piano that is out of tune for a recital is a cruel one. i have a very good ear in music and kind of a perfectionist. i will not ever touch a mic if the quality of the sound is not to my satisfactiion. same with the piano or any musical instrument.
you can hear that you're not playing the exact tune and that bothered you and messed you up. get over it and don't blaim yourself. next time refuse to play an instrument that's out of tune. take care.
Don't worry, other people in the audience who play an instrument will empathize with your situation, because it happens to everyone. And if they don't understand, then they're jerks anyway so who cares. The worst part about messing up once is that it can decrease your confidence in future recitals. But that knowledge should be motivation to do better next time and to practice harder and smarter.
I'm a music teacher and I sure woudln't worry about this or be depressed about it. In the long run, it makes no difference whatsoever. The only person who never makes mistakes is the person who never tries anything. It's sure not worth getting depressed over. What is important is that you continue to learn, and continue to value yourself. Hugs!
