If you had to name the one thing that most frightens you about growing old, what would it be?
Answer:
That only my physical body will grow old, and not my soul.
That is why, from the age of 18, our bodies slowly start to wither, in order for us to nurture the more important thing of life itself, our souls.
being alone and being ugly
Its having weak bones and low energy. I can't imagine myself so helplessly helpless, can't manage to swim anymore and run and dance and play.
The wrinkles too.
only one thing, geez...I can think of many. but mostly it would bother me that my body does not respond as it did in my 20's or 30's. I see older couples (like 60 or 70 crossing the street and they go so slow, but they seem to be trying to move faster) it must be very frustrating for them.
Frightens me? One thing and one thing only.being put in a convalescent home someday. It is like being a caged animal...with a visitation once in a while.
The idea of being significantly physically impaired and therefore losing my independence scares the living daylights out of me. If my eyesight or some other bodily function failed me to the degree where I was no longer qualified to drive, or had to be put in a nursing home, or could not do anything with my remaining time besides eat and breathe and eliminate... I can't handle that idea. I want to be fully functional until the day I die (at a ripe old age, of course)!

My body drifting away as my bones shrink, skin sags, wrinkles come, and I also won't be able to run anymore so I'll get really fat. My lovely white teeth will fall out, and so will my hair!! I'll just get botox, a set of false teeth and take a lot of vitamins!

Being on the brink of senility - the moment where you know you are losing your short term memory, potentially your sense of self and independence and not being able to stop it.
As i get older the years start going by quicker so I am scared that when i get really old the years will just zip by really fast.
