The McCann saga?
Is it because their own lives are so dull and sad that they get pleasure out of kicking other people?
Is it because they are deeply inadequate in their work / home life and with no power over anyone or anything that this gives them a feeling of power and superiority?
Is it something in there physiological make up? The same people slow down to watch car accidents (rubber necking).
I would love to hear a Physiologists view.

Now before you all shout at me of courseI feel sorry for the family and everything. I am a youth worker and have a two year ols myself and would die if this happened to me, but i personally think it has all been a bit too much. Suddenly the media and the world seem to latch onto one human interest story. I feel sorry for the families of all the hundereds of children who have gone missing since that no one knows about. There is one rape/child abuse every 2 seconds for instance in Cape Town and that never gets any interest. So much happens in the world every day why is this family more important??
Well actually I am sick hearing about them. After all this whole thing is going on a bit too long.
I agree with you, people are so harsh.
However I do believe that the parents made their decision for all the media, to hopefully scare the kidnapper to hand thier daughter back. Although my opinion is that the kidnapper did it for a ransom because the McCann's family seemed pretty well off however it backed fired on him because of all the media involved so he got scared off and perhaps killed the little girl or she still out there somewhere.
But I hope to god shes safe, I know if this happen with son I'd be devastated. Some people are so sick, I don't understand why the kidnapper hasn't come forward to the police instead he has to live with what he's done for the rest of his life and people like that don't deserve to live.
We need to keep this in the media as this little girl can never be forgotten!! and people who slag the McCanns are sick as well, we are all human beings and we should stick together, we want peace, not war!!
A star for a star!
Your 100% spot on there! Putting the blame on somebody won't help matters, or help to find Madeleine.
People that are putting the blame onto the McCann's and criticising their parenting, are most likely to be people who are living with guilt. This may not be due to a similar circumstance, but often having somebody else to blame and criticise can help you forget about your own faults and problems!
Every ounce of energy should be used to help find her! What happened, happened and we unfortunatly cannot turn back the clock!
The McCann's have suffered more than a life-sentance! They have lost their little daughter, they have seen these nasty comments and had accusations thrown at them! They ake with uncertainty, not knowing whether their 4 year old is dead or alive!
Yes, they should not have left Madeleine, Sean and Amelie at the apartment alone. Especially in a foreign country! However, they have paid more than enough for their mistake..
At the end of the day, I think the McCann's are wonderful parents. Seeing them play with the twins, reading them books and taking them to the park. Keeping strong for their 2 little bundles of joy..Other parents should be inspired by their strength, more than anything!
This is a horrible, horrible case and I just hope that Madeleine McCann will be returned safe and sound to her parents.
Thank You! :-)
Or is it because they have made such an almighty fuss about it and achieved nothing. It is a tragic situation but they are not the first, and sadly not the last, parents to whom it will even happen. Is it not time they returned to their home, their jobs etc.etc. and got on with normal life for the sake of their other two children.
A good question.
Why am I writing this instead of catching an episode of Sponge Bob?
First, I don't feel that I am bashing the McCann's indiscriminately or personally. I will admit to being very critical of their methods, choices, trips, blog and overall strategy of their "Leave no stone unturned" campaign. I don't know the McCann's so I don't have an opinion on whether they are good or bad people. However, I do have an opinion on their media blitz and just because it is negative it should not be taken as a personal attack.
Good people do dumb things. The McCann's may very well be good people but in the PR realm they're not showing much aptitude.
And let us not forget what is at stake here. Wasting time and resources may have tragic consequences.
