I don't thing you can actually "pick-up" a nice girl. A girl who will give you her phone number cause you stopped to say hi, either gave you the wrong number or she's got issues. In my world, giving a stranger your phone number is asking for trouble, toooo many phsycos out there.
Nice girls does not mean virgins or stuck up women. I bet Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio can do it easily. They say that a women knows in 2 minutes of meeting you if she will have sex with you. You never know until it happens.
