What are little things you do throughout the day to keep yourself upbeat and cheerful?



Answer:
Things like smiling at someone you don't know, helping others when they wouldnt really expect it, being kind to others, work on my creative side ie. writing poems or stories, painting and drawing, completing a goal like an assignment from school or homework. Maybe cleaning the house till it shines before mum gets home from work, things like that. Its so simple and easy to have a satisfying life style, all you need to do is take initiative.

When I am home I have 7 dogs. They keep me happy. People also need music to brighten their day.
When feeling down, JUST STARE AT A CLOWN!

I go to the beach and enjoy the day, get high and look at the trees,exercise,answer answers on yahoo and ask questions, walk the dog, go to the pet store, watch the airplanes fly, take a nap, have people over and watch a movie, swim in the pool, go to a mall and watch people talk and observe, not like stalkerish but just to see how people are and compare i dono alot of things you can do just appreciate life and its beauty
I use positive affirmations and I make myself do an activity if I am not feeling happy. I go for a walk or do a menial task, or something I enjoy. Being active keeps you upbeat.
Listen to upbeat music -- gets me moving!

Think about how I wouldn't trade my "bag of troubles" for anyone elses.
Stay away from people.
watch something that rhymes with corn.
Answer various questions.
Call my best friend, we always make each other laugh. Talk to my husband, he has a way of keeping me cheerful. Get on my kids level and just "be" with them. Crank up the music. Play my piano. Write a song. Count my blessings.
Personally the things that keep me happy are more or less in this order: listening to my favorite music, reading something truely inspiring and simple, looking out the window to see the flowers in the garden, the leafs of the trees... actually whenever i look at something or listen to something without thinking with words it helps a lot. All those things lead to a meditative and generally happy state of mind and then by closing my eyes and relaxing with a bit of rhytmical breathing while keeping awake, i get enough energy and happiness for the entire day. :)
It works if you keep a positive attitude towards everything.
