Do you think Rap is a disgrace?

If you listen closely to the rap lyrics, the rappers talk about livin in poverty and it gets in these young children's mind that they must live in poverty to become the "big dawgs". Also these people rap about being "Thugs" and raping women and using the N-Word. Now Rapping is pushing the Civil Rights stuff back many years except the rappers are in the place where the whites were. I am not being racist but blacks have been committing more and more hate crimes towards whites ever since this type of trash became popular. It tells young children to not get an education and instead rule a gang. What kind of blasphemy is this? Martin Luther King Jr. is rolling in his grave for this along with the other African Americans that fought for African Americans to go to schools and be great people. This is degrading to a proud race. Martin Luther King did not fight for Civil Rights only so African Americans can own gangs and riot in our streets. Its a sad era in the African American history book!

I don't really know about rap telling kids and people this and that because I don't listen to it. Rap is not my genre of music. I do not like it at all. It's kind of...how should I describe it...i'll just use the word crazy. Like the way they "sing", it's... not really singing at all and stuff. Maybe the word is wild? But that is MY oppinion. So if people start getting mad at me, it's not my problem. I just expressed my oppinion and I am not trying to spread any hate and what not.

Not necessarily a disgrace, but about what they experienced. Some people may not like Rap and say R.A.P. is a "Rappers Attempting Poetry." Well, the black american history suggests that african americans evolve from slavery and being a "black" person may have faced insults. Just because of slavery, changed the world.

i personally wouldn't say it's a disgrace cause it's not only Black's that do it

do you think rap is the only music that does that?? look at classic rock.drugs, sex, partying.heavy metal is alway talking bout creepy killing things, country music is almost always bout alchohal or feeling sad for yourself, and honestly i hear more about gettin money in industrialized rap than livin off the streets with no shirt on the backs.And you think its only african americans who "own" gangs, look at the mafia, i assure u they whernt black, or look at the nortenos and suerenos, all latino gangs...i think you need to take a look around and stop pointing fingers at one group of people...it fairly ignorant.

well you have a point, i'm black and i don't feel offended by it because its true. but your wrong about one thing, rap is a beautiful way of exprising music it's like poetry. but just because you read one bad poem does that mean you hate all poetry? no!! that how rap is. you see its the words that people say in the rap that makes it wrong and offending,not the rap. i can see where your coming from but you don't get the whole point of rap, just like many rap artist don't. rap is poetry with music its not the rap thats wrong its the words that people put in the rap that makes it wrong.
