Does OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) have any benefits?

Many geniuses and intelligent people have mental disorders. Einstein and Newton may have had Autism or Asperger's syndrome (there is no proof though), and Einstein also had depression at some point.

But what about OCD? Some people say OCD is most common among more intelligent people(although there hasn't been any real research).

Howard Hughes and Nikola Tesla had OCD. Nikola Tesla invented AC electricity, and pretty much invented the modern world (hundreds of patents).

So does OCD have any link to extra mental abilities?
Howard Hughes and Nikola Tesla had OCD.

Answer:
There was an episode of Scrubs where there was a doctor/surgeon that had OCD and he said that he only was able to memorize his text books and surgeries like he did was because of his disorder... It may be a fictional show but it would make sense if something like that happened.
lol. The only benefit that my OCD has is that I'm excessively clean which could also be a curse since I not only tend to wash off the good bacteria on my hands, but I also tend to annoy my husband anytime anything is in the wrong place or messy or if he does something "wrong" while thinking he's "helping" me clean.
I don't believe that OCD has any benefits (besides really clean hands) but (and i do not have sources) I read somewhere that Being extremely intelligent usually comes with some sort of price either a physical or mental dissability that doesn't completely impair you for normal life but doesn't help you out much either.
One of my friends has OCD and can usually keep it out of her life however it is still ahuge pain for her to deal with but she is incredibly smart !
its true that people with ocd are more advanced than others, because their brains are working over time all the time.

BUT I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO GET RID OF MY OCD.
I don't care who had it or has it, I feel it is damaging, not only to those who have it but those who have to be around those who have it.I am patient, yet sick and tired, of all these "disorders" that modern man has come up with...it is a convenient disorder for the privileged, personally, I work too hard and have too much to care about...IE aging parents and children, not enough time for this illness....
