What do you think about the couple who severely neglected their children and then blamed it on the internet?

I didn't know about this story, until I read your question, but our society today has changed so much in the past 20-30 years when personal responsibility is not taken where it should be. I ought to know, I lived all these years as a adult. It's not right that people blame everything or anyone they can think of, instead of looking in a mirror and pointing at the person in it. A lot of the blame goes to the parents of kids who abuse they're given freedoms, and think that their child can do no wrong. Freedom is never free. I, also blame a lot of this on money grubbing trial lawyers and even Hollywood itself, where they always think they can come up with an excuse for any wrongdoings by a client or actor, and then shift the blame from whom it truly belongs through some irrational reasoning. Unfortunately, I don't know if we will ever get back to the days when your actions were accountable to you and you alone. Lord help us all, if we don't.
I think it's disgusting, just like I would if they were drug addicts. However, if you're thinking it's not a real addiction, think again. Although it's more likely to happen to adolescents, it can happen to any adult who has an addictive personality. But foster care is just as appropriate for them while they're getting treatment as it would be if they were drug addicts. The fastest solution would be to remove the computer, but if they have that type of personality, they might just find something else to replace the internet, maybe something a lot more harmful.
Yeah, I saw that too. Parents ought to be neglected and starved and see how they like it. I have kids and I like the Internet too, but I make sure my kid's needs are met and they are in bed for the night before I sit down and play games.
It's sick & pathetic thank God they were saved in time & are now safe.
I thought it was so funny how they blamed it on the internet and computer games. The funniest part was dat da refigerator was Full. People like dem never should of had kids in the first place. They spent all there money they inherited on games and stuff

That's not even a question. . . to blame neglect on a computer addiction?!? People can have addictions and still feed their kids. NO EXCUSE!
they don't deserve kids...they should be treated in the same like matter and then they would see and feel abuse..
people that harm children, in my opinion, needs to be put out of this world....harsh you may think..i think the courts of this land is to easy on them...if i had my way...everyone that brings harm to children would be hung in public.... the next day if possible...

I think they should be left in front of their computers (chained preferably) where they are unable to get up to do anything with no access to food, water or the facilities and left to rot.
They are just awful people who didn't give a hoot about their children and I bet they took care of their own needs of eating, drinking etc... did they themselves look horribly dehydrated, starved and sickened?
It is just an excuse for being horrible people.
i think their kids should be taken away and they should go to jail for a very very long time. and people wonder why the youth of america is so f u c k e d up.
They deserve every second of the sentence they received. Just sick.
I guess the good news in this is that the internet so engrossed them that they didn't have time for torture and beating routines, theirs is exactly the kind of mentality which harbors such abilities.
The kids need to count themselves lucky.

That cowardly, cold, self-centered attitude is the same one used to carry out other atrocities toward children.

That story sounds fishy to me. They managed to at least pay their internet bills. I think they had drugs mixed in there. It's too hard for me to believe that the Internet is that addictive.
It's just another example of people putting the blame for their own bad behavior on someone or something else. It's a total lack of responsibility for your own actions. It's like people who are obese and try to blame fast food restaurants.
I posted this article on my blog a couple days ago. It is horrible! What gets me most is that these parents were not in a drunk or doped stupor. How could they choose to ignore their children's cry of need? If I take more than a few minutes to take of my daughter's needs: feeding, changing, soothing her... She throws a tremendous fit. So I know those children did not sit quietly by. Some people should not be allowed to reproduce!

These people realy discust me. How could you ever . The most selfish act ever!!! How easy would it of been to simply take them to family servicses at least . And how the bloody hell could anything ever such as that allow you to starve those dear little babies. I hope those bastards get strung up . It makes me sick!!
