How can I motivate myself?
Answer:
Flash cards are almost always the best method to get stuff memorized. What you could do is take the swear jar principle and apply it to flash cards.
Example: every time you don't remember a flash card you put a quarter in a jar, only until you get the whole stack completely memorized will you be able to get the quarter back.
It's a good savings and motivator method, since you can't touch the money you put into it until you complete the task, and depending on your memorization ability, you will have a moderate to decent sum of money in the jar when you're done, and when you get the money back you can get yourself a treat.
Though not everything study wise can be solved through flash cards, there are other methods for good study motivation.
Apply whatever you're studying about into the real world, make up pretend scenarios to act out the study material.
Example for geometry (since its simple): take a stick and break it in half then glue it to a pop sickle stick, use the newly created triangle to work out formulas.
There are literally thousands of ways to motivate yourself.
Just think of something you like doing, and find out a way to apply it to what you need to study. Almost every academic class has some aspect to any aspect in the world, from highly advanced soft ware to a simple drop of water.
