Yes I agree with you 100%, and not because I want a best answer. I also feel that I am losing interst in answering because 75% of people do not even bother to choose a best answer.
They really don't care. Some say "I am desperate, please help me". etc.. Then the answer stays open for a month or two. I have 76 answered questions. about 60 of them are still open from 3 weeks to a month or more since they were placed.

I have also seen many people on here trying to get honest answers and opinions, it depends on the category you check.
I see nothing wrong with people seeking affirmation for their beliefs.
They will probably not be swayed by the answers presented here, but they will confirm their suspicions as to the popularity of their opinion.
