My ridiculous phobia?

Okay this is going to be long..

I have an absolutely ridiculous phobia that I'm going to fall off the earth. I hate looking up at the sky. I hate sitting in big open fields. This year the fireworks for the 4th were HELL. I don't like being in places with a lot of space and where there's nothing above me. I also have this ridiculous fear that if I WAS to fly off the earth, I'd hit an airplane passing on the way up. I know it sounds SO silly, but I have physical side-effects as well, there's no way to describe the fear that I experience on such a regular basis. I posted another question asking who I could see for help with phobias, but I'm afraid that NOTHING will help. Scientific explanation of how this could never happen doesn't help either. Please help! How can I get rid of this?

Answer:
Take up sky diving. The shock and awe of gravity should bring you to you senses.
i think you should go to a therapist
If your family members or friends of yours know about them, ask them for help to confront your fears and later on you wont have to worry about things like this and go on your life without worries. :D
Does it make you feel 'funny' when you look up?

I swear i've heard before that it's a problem with either your eyes, ears or brain..

see a doctor?
If i were you i would either... A) prove to myself that it is impossible by tryn to fall off the earth. Or B)share some of this stuff im smoking with friends who want to fear falling off the earth. lol
have sex in an open field, you will for ever more love open spaces

btw, i have this same fear, i duno y, i get kinda dizzy when i look up, i hate laying down on open fields, i should try my own sex idea, but im a virgin, haha
Your phobia is not silly it is quit real i found it with 2 different names
one being

Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places

the other being

Agoraphobia- Fear of open spaces or of being in crowded, public places like markets. Fear of leaving a safe place.

and the only way Ur going to get any help at all is to see a psychologist - you won't be able to fix it on Ur own
I've got a TON OF phobia's some i deal with better then others but i don't really deal with them I make my self do what I'm afraid of doing(but once I'm home back in my comfort zone it is pure hell on me for at least 2 hrs after wards)
Your not alone alot of ppl have phobias i got a list a mile long and until i found the phobia list i didn't even know most of mine actually had a NAME!
Phobias are frequently treated by using exposure therapy, meaning under the guidance of a therapist, the person is exposed, little by little, to their phobia. Over a period of time, the individual comes to see that the item which they fear is not actually a threat at all. This is simplified quite a bit. If you have the means, you really ought to contact a therapist - they CAN help you. If you are not able to go to a therapist, maybe get a self-help book and do the best you can to conduct the therapy on your own.

Good luck.
Ive had the feeling before, tho only when i stood on my head in an open field... Try what i do with my fears (darkness, heights, silly stuff i know) Face them head on, know that no matter what, you *can* die... Walking on a sidewalk can be just as dangerous as swimming in shark infested waters, sharks might not always be hungry, but a car *can* fly off the road and squish you. Or you can waste your money trying to talk with someone who gives you a weird smile, nods, and hands out medication that will **** you up so you aren't yourself anymore.
That isn't ridiculous..we all have phobia's...When I was young and my parents would take me somewhere. You know how you will be driving and all you see is sky..well I had this thing that if we kept going we would fall off the earth...cuz the look of just the sky kind of looks like the ocean when you are going up or down a hill..

So you are not weird!
BTW I out grew that phobia

you should go see a hypnotherapist, they can uncover your subconscious to find out what causes such phobia. once the cause is found, then it could be treated.
