Are areas of the brain associated with sensory and motor functions called assocaiton areas or is this wrong?

Answer:
If I am understanding your question correctly, they are called the somatosensory cortex and the motor cortex
Association cortex, is what I think your are referring to. It is the area of the cerebral cortex thought to be responsible for the organizing, processing, and storing of information entering, and leaving the brain.
