Why do I feel that activities that should take 2, 3 hours take whole day?

Today, I am witting an essay and almost the whole day I wasted on reading news, posts on the internet instead on focusing on doing homework for Tuesday. I am so like pulsed to leave work for last time which I think isn't good thing. I think maybe because I am too bored I don't know. I get easily deconcentrated by my mom washing dishes, screaming kids outside, email, facebook. I work usually in quiet style with no music. Could that be problem? I think maybe listening to some good music on the Internet would improve my mood to do more work, but what is some good website with free music, or radio station?

Answer:
unrealistic expectations
Maybe your easily distracted by events going on around you.Maybe there's a little procrastinating going on. Relax don't have the problem ,solve it.
There's free music, of all types, right here at Yahoo! Go to the Yahoo home page, and find Yahoo! Music--it's pretty good, they even let you make your 'own channel' by rating the various songs they play in the music category you select. Or, you can just pick the type that you like, and stay with it--which would be better, if you're going to use it to study.

You really need to make a schedule. Taking some books from the library on Time Management, Organization, Uncluttering Your Life/Space, etc. might help you very much.

For that matter, if the noise at home is preventing you from studying, why not go to the library--and study there. Loud noise is not permitted in libraries. (Usually they have headphones, so you could probably even listen to music there).

I personally find it too quiet in the library--I'm used to hearing animals, cars, trains, the washing machine, TV, radio, etc.--and can't concentrate in too quiet an atmosphere. (I can't even sleep without the TV or radio on--fortunately I have sleep timers--so I'm not wasting too much electricity).
Hmmm. I think I know how you feel, considering I do the exact same thing. I actually say like oh I have this paper. So I 'dedicate' the whole day to it. When, if I had compacted the actual time spent on it, it would be a few hours. I think it could be since you are dreading(assuming you don't want to do these things) your essay, you are presumptuously assuming the negativity that you feel with it will ruin your day. Well, I don't know in your case exactly, but for me, what I did was try to find one aspect of the unfun thing I 'have' to do that is good or interesting to me and just concentrate on that. That way, I am able to focus better because it helps me stay interested and happy. I know what you mean though lol! When I saw this question I was like...oh..ha. Well, about the music sites, try limewire. It's free music downloads. So I hope this helps in some way! Try to find the positives in what you are trying to do and focus on it! And then listen to good music! yahoO!
