How to bring up my eating disorder to my mom?

Over the past year i had two eating disorders...one was binging which i was able to get rid of but it changed into anorexia which i havent been able to fully let go of. It was really bad earlier but i have gotten myself under control but nobody really knew. They knew i dropped weight but they thought it was because i was stressed. Anyway i have gotten to the point where i want to explain to my mom what i went through and maybe she can help me rid of the final ends of this so i can beat it. I want her to take me seriously and understand that my problem with food and weight spans deeper than she really imagined. Also, i want to be able to talk to someone.anyone about it.

I'm sorry that I can't really tell you how to approach your Mom on this subject. You know her a lot better than I do and you'll know the best time and way to bring it up. What is really important is that you do talk it over with her and soon.

I knew a girl in my apartment complex that had an eating disorder and she was throwing food from the second floor onto the ground below into some trees. This was messy and someone made complaints but her father didn't know about her problem and refused to admit that anyone in his apartment was doing it. The food began to attract coyotes and that scared a new mother that lived on the first floor right by where the food was being dropped. There were more complaints but she still hadn't 'come out' about it and eventually it was all forgotten. About six months later she collapsed at school and was rushed to the hospital and had emergency treatment for being malnourished and severly anemic.

So, talk this over with your Mom now before you wind up talking it over with her and a doctor in an emergency room.

Congratulations for coming as far as you have with this. Take the next step and get help if you need it and put this behind you. Good Luck !
well first of all its really important to talk to your mom about it. Recovering or going threw anorexia is a scary thing and your mom can help you get out of it and sharing this info with ur mom can bring ur relationship alot closer.
its good that you want to get help now you need to just go and get it :]
This is a really tough topic as is any concerning eating disorders. I'm sure that if you have been through one eating disorder already, your mother would be as understanding as she possibly could and would be extremely willing to help you battle the last parts of anorexia. Your parents can be the best people to talk to because you know that they will love you and support you no matter what. You need to sit with her, without any other family member and talk to her and tell her you want her to seriously listen to all of what you have to say before she says anything. Tell her what you are saying in your question here and be sure to tell her that you need someone to really be able to talk to and you want that person to be her. Good Luck.
Schedule a heart to heart with mom as soon as possible. Anorexia is life threatening and must be treated as soon as possible. Mom will know what to do about calling for help with this disorder.
Choose a quiet time of day, and just say it. Keep your voice low and calm at first. Then let the conversation roll. Neither of you will be at a loss for words.

And good for you! Your mother would want to know. She may even suspect and be relieved that you've brought it out into the open.

Hang in there, and good luck to you.
