Is my cousin Narcissistic? what causes this disorder?
Answer:
I don't think narcissistic is the word. I think it would be more like self-centered egotistical tempermental *itch.
Narcissism isn't a disorder. She sounds spoiled, coddled, and, quite frankly, rather skanky.
Narcissism is not the same as wanting to seek attention.
A narcissistic personality is one who is in love with themselves, so much that they can't love anyone else, because they really believe no one will ever be as perfect of a mate as they are. They are delusional, thinking of themselves as a real, separate person, it's almost a split personality.
I don't know the age of your cousin, but she sounds like a typical teenage girl rebelling against the world, doing all the things she knows people consider to be wrong. It's a dangerous path she's walking on, it only leads to serious pain.
Chances are, she'll grow out of it. Usually just a passing phase. If not, then the first time she's badly hurt, she'll learn how wrong her behavior is.
All you can do is be there as a family member, tel her the dangerous path she's chosen, and be there to wipe away her tears when she falls.
