Do you have an unusual phobia? Do you know the name of it? I know this question has been asked before.?

I am terrified of getting lost. I know that it doesn't have a name, as I have looked on loads of websites and in books. Its very debilitiating and affects my job as I wont go to places I dont know. I have looked into hypnotheraphy and have had accupuncture which cost a bomb and didn't work. I know a lot of people are scared of spiders birds and snakes which although irrational is a perfectly normal phobia. I'm not frightened of anything, other than that. (apart from me in the mirror in the mornings, arghh)

Answer:
My fears are:

Emetophobia (fear of vomiting)
Slight Nyctophobia (fear of darkness)
Hemaphobia (fear of blood)
Slight Chorophobia (fear of dancing)
Nyctohylophobia (fear of dark wooded areas at night)
Belonephobia (fear of pins and needles) My dog ate a needle last year. It scared so me much. She is fine now though, after surgery. I don't even sew or anything. :( Now I am afraid of needles/pins.

MY WORST phobia though, is:
Apiphobia (fear of bees)

They aren't really "unusual," [other than Nyctohylophobia and Belonephobia] maybe to some people they are.

I have 2 friends with totally strange phobias. one is terrified of 'russian dolls' - you know the wooden dolls that fit inside each other!? and the other friend is scared of people on stilts. they both really freak out id they see these everyday things.

I'm terrified of huge flags. I discovered this when I saw the largest American flag in New Hampshire and had a private breakdown.
How's that for weird?
When I was 5 or so years old, I found and read a Martin Mystere comic. It had a scene in it with a ninja digging up the water pipe that runs under a mafia boss' garden and mixing acid into the water with some weird bottle-drill thing while the boss took a shower. The boss then died horribly.

Ever since I saw that, I hesitate for a minute or so before I go into the shower. I still do.
No, but I rather like the fear of long words...

I suffer from toxiphobia. I fear being poisoned (linked to near disaster in dentist when i was toddler. Long story!) Tiny foul smell especially chemical thing would make me gasping for breath and my heart go mad. But i am coping with it quite well in recent few years.
i have a phobia of balloons! how strange is that! and my husband is terrified of frogs.im looking for a cure for that on here.
My partner has a phobia of very small people, and doesn't even like the typical name given to them. As a clue, Snow White had seven of them. It makes him go into a blind panic and on one occasion in particular while trying to run in the opposite direction from one, ran straight out into the middle of the road and very nearly got run over. If one appears on the TV, he feels sick, squirms and the TV has to be turned over or off. If not he closes his eyes or looks away and has to be told when they're gone. We both realise that this might be taken as discrimination but it really isn't meant to be.

I think that its because they are normally portrayed as evil but even watching the Wizard of Oz, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is difficult.

My partner can't explain why it is, but it really is a problem!!

I have a fear of anything that buzzes around my ears, such as bees, wasps, flies and even hair clippers. I go into complete panic and it sends a shiver down my spine.

Again none of this is meant to be discriminatory.
i have a phobia of sick. i cant stand it. if someone is sick on tv, even if i know its fake, it makes me want to chuck. for example on little Britain with that 'woman' that's sick when she finds out someone black/ginger/lesbian etc has made the food, i cant look. the worst thing is, is I'm travel sick. it was worse when i was little, much better now but its still horrible. it makes it terrified of hospitals, or anything like roller coasters. does anyone know how to cure it? even in the future im scared of getting pregnant because of it.
I have selenophobia, which is fear of the moon.
i am terrified of fish! but, i have no idea what the phobia is called
These answers are so interesting.

I have a fear that is a very specific form of claustrophobia. I have a fear of getting stuck in a storm drain pipe. Whenever I am walking and see one I always have to look to see where the other end comes out and then rationalize to myself if it is big/small enough for me to get stuck in. My fear originated when I was watching an episode of the Simpson's as a child. Homer got stuck in one of those tube water slides. The water started to build up and the pressure caused it to explode. Since then I was traumatized. Oh yeah, I can't ride on those type of water slides either.
polystyrene, i hate christmas and birthdays because of this
