What is the most terrifying thing thats happened to you or witnessed?

I walked in on my parents having sex.
My friend Abel was shot in the head, right in front of me, and died with his bleeding head in my lap.
After seeing that, nothing can freak me out.

I was once diving with my friends and I almost got killed because I got confused and went the wrong way... a friend of mine saved my life. If it wasn't for him, I guess I wouldn't be writing this now :(

well, this happened when i was maybe 10 yrs old.we (my bro, dad, and myself) were at south padre island near the jetties...my bro and i were in ankle high water, when all of a sudden 2 ginormous waves came and knocked my bro and i almost over the jetties and into the bay.if we would have gotten thrown completely over, we would have been dead...the only thing that stopped us, well me, 4rm going over was a block of cement that they use 4 fishing...my bro came sliding backwards so i grabbed him and yeah.scary experience!!

10 yrs ago, 5 of us were ambushed by gang members in LA
because we ended up lost in "their" neiborhood. shot 2 of my friends while we were in the car. long story, but my friends survived.3 gang members are now serving long term sentences

when i was six i saw my cousins dead mangled body in a smashed car that has been run over by a semi truck... her insides were out and all her bones were broken... it was creepy, gross, and very very sad
Well It's Gonna Have To Be When I Almost Died.We Used To Live Out In The Country By A Highway. Of Course The Highway Is Always Busy At 5 Because People Come Home From Work. Across That highway Was a Forrest. Ok So I was In My Dad's Golf Cart And I Had No Clue How To Work It. So I Clicked This Button And I Went Speeding Back. My Dad Caught My Arm And I Flew Off Scrapiing Both Of My Arms. Now If I Look back And My Dad Never Pulled Me Off That Cart I Would'nt Be Answering This Question Today. If My Dad Haden't Pulled Me Off That Cart I Would've Slammed Into A Tree And A Store Truck [[Those that Deliever Stuff To The Store]] Would've Crushed Me Into Roadkill. Beacuse I Was In Shock I Didn't Feel Tha Pain Of My Bad Scrapes. I Just Felt Blood Running Down My Arms. It Was A Scary Day. But I Thank God Everyday For My Dad And Mom. ='']

Witnessing the insanity of 9/11 was the worst. However, in May 1999, my family was coming home to southern Tennessee and in northern Nashville that night, all traffic was stopped on I-65 due to a bad storm. All of a sudden, our car was lifted off the interstate by a tornado. It shook us like a rag doll, then we hovered and finally dropped back onto the road, unharmed but badly frightened.

Being at the emotional and psychological mercy of terribly frightening and abusive parents who ruled my world. Nothing is scarier than thinking there's no way out of hell.
If you're talking just one instance, I've gotten less brave as I've aged, and to try and counter that, I went on a ride where they tie you to a wires and drop you from about 120 feet up in the air and you swing. I've never been so immediately terrified in my life. It felt like I was hurtling towards death.
One day when we were kids I went with a friend of mine to "explore" the mountain and we found a house that looked abandoned but when we looked inside we found a bed,a pair of shoes and some other things. When we returned to the village I told it to my cousin but he didn't believe me and we went again to this house but when we reached it there were some people there and when they saw us they started to chase us saying something in a foreign language!!
I started to run but my cousin froze but when he started to run too he left me behind!
I still remember how terrified me the noise that made the leaves as the man who chased us was stepping on them!!
