I am terrible at science labs-Help Please! Advice?

The bad part is, I'm a Biology major. I love learning about Biology, but I find it overwhelming in lab. Usually my partner knows what to do right away and leaves me mentally in the dust! My lab partners always end up doing all the work 'cause I'm too slow. I need to take Organic Chemistry and I'm dreading it because I basically need that lab partner who won't hate me for not getting it. I'm usually okay understanding the lab report, but getting there is another story.
I know a couple of things I do wrong-I don't read the lab ahead of time and I have trouble using new equipment that I've never seen. Most students seem to understand the equipment right away. Are there jobs where I can enjoy Biology without having to do lab work or am I just doomed?

Answer:
I had a similar experience. I was fine in the classroom, but I was terrible in the lab. I was intimidated by the whole process.

In fact, I dreaded lab so much that I switched my minor from chemistry to psychology.

So, in essence, chemistry lab led me to study psychology. In the grand scheme of things, my deficiency became an opportunity to explore new fields.

In your case, you can still conduct many biological studies without the need for a laboratory. In fact, you can analyze the data that other people collect for you in a lab.

An example could be the statistical analysis of previously collected data from several independent sources to make a conclusion about a specific subject area in biology.
Hey there...I'm a lab worker and can relate to your experiences. Organis Chemistry can be a very difficult subject so you will need to find a partner who is willing and able to explain and share their learning. You do need to prepare also. There isn't much biology you can do without being able to do some lab work.
Best wishes.
