When you get an answer you like is it cause?
it really is helping you or more just what you want to and need to hear?
Answer:
As we all know for every question there will be an answer. the answer may be a wrong one or a right one. a truthful answer do help a lot. Most of people accepts only the answers from the others what they are expecting to get.
Depends on the question!
What I need to hear to know the answer, whther it proves me right or wrong. I look for the best answer in terms of content.
inviting opinions
probably depends on what you want out of the question. support for your own beliefs or the truth even if it hurts
I want the three points back to make it to the next level.
Depends on the category. If it's advice people usually pick what they want to hear.
Both!
Some can really help and others are a bit truthful and you know it yourself deep down, but dont like it!
I hope it is the one that helps.I personally prefer to answer a question & hope my answer is helpfull.
I think a little of both. Also I think people feel safer asking people who dont know them.
yes...i do believe that many questions are asked in order to confirm or validate an already set opinion...one of my pointless questions on here was "do you think FunQA.coms should be called Yahoo! Opinions instead?"...im a little more serious about my answers than i am about my questions...is this the answer you were looking for?...ok maybe not more serious...hmmm...good question...
Depends if it answer my question and helped.
Its helping me
i am beyond help so i need to find something clever or amusing in the answer
well when you ask a question, it means you dont know the answer to the question you asked. So if an answer you wanted to hear was posted it just conferms what you all ready were going to do. now what you do with the answers given are totaly up to you...
most people just want justification for what they already think.
I find that if you have a different opinion than the asker, you get grief for expressing it.
Some people have their mind made up before they even post the question.
Both in some cases.
you asked "When you get an answer you like is it cause?
it really is helping you or more just what you want to and need to hear? "
hmmmm " i'll have to tell you later " .. How did that make ya feel?
I like to read people's differing views on subjects, and some of the answers are very helpful. Then there's answers that I want to hear and agree with.
it depends on the question, i've given best answer to someone who insulted me before because their answer was right, if it's a good answer it's a good answer.
It depends on whether you are a realist or a romantic. A romanitc likes an answer because it makes them feel good = agrees with what they thought. A realist likes an answer because it is truth and in the end is more productive.
It is completely dependant on the question I ask. If it is something I don't have a clue about, like an involved maths formula, then obviously a worked answer to explain is a great help. If it is simply opening a forum for opinion then I enjoy the diversity of responses, not necessarily what I want to hear (often not in fact), but good to see others point of view.
It could be some of all of these factors. Facts are great, they do help, but I also want and need to hear other's talk of their experiences, sometimes I get what I need from what has happened to someone else and how they have handled it. Everything figures into making a good answer and sometimes the best answers are not always spelled correctly.
I think its about opening yourself up to other people views and perspectives.
There is some questions I dont bother answering not because I couldnt be bothered or they arent great questions. But because from reading everyones indivdual views there would be nothing more I could add.
I like a forum were all views are considered. I like the rating system as it allows me to give a thumbs up for an opinion that I had never considered or just a great and well presented answer.
With regards to the thumbs down rating, I would only give this if I felt someone was being deliberately negative or sarcastic.
I would never give a thumbs down to anyone who put their views across cordially but was different to mine thats just arrogant.
different perspectives is valuable insight into human behaviour. I love it
- if it's a real problem, I like hearing opinions I wouldn't think of myself ... that's why I ask questions here, to learn about different points of view
- if it's a fun question, I'm just hoping for a bit of seance of humour
A lot of it is to do with wanting to hear what you want to, but the question is are we answering questions that are real happening to people, I know the answers and questions that i have put on answers are real. are others doing it for fun or to see reactions of us.
It's usually because it's helping although sometimes it is because it is what i want to hear, not very often though :D
