You can't. Hypnosis is only a voluntary suspension of will.
You can allow yourself to be hypnotized by anything, if you really that weak-willed.
Most of it is phony anyway. I went up on the stage for a hypotist once. Anything I did that he was "suggesting" that I do, was clearly by choice. I was playing along, and I know that all of the rest of the people up there were, too.
That's kind of funny that anyone is naive enough to believe that there is any kind of power involved that would rob someone of their will.

Self hypnosis is really not needed. If you can think it, you can perceive yourself doing it.
There is a direct correlation between Imagination and a hypnotic state.
