Who has worked for an Amazon.com warehouse facility? PLZ help!?
This job makes me feel weird, in short I HATE IT. The people are very distant and unfriendly. The building is huge and overwhelming and it is SOO hot. I feel like a lost soul on another planet in this situation for 8 hours a day! Don't get me wrong I don't mind vigorous work but there is something heartsickening about working here. I just can't explain the feeling? Has anyone else ever worked at a facility like this and how did you cope? Did you simply look at it as temporary to get you through a tough time - like college? Talk to me Im desperate for someone to talk to about this!
Answer:
I worked at several warehouse jobs during my college years. I hated all of them.
The only way that I survived was to know that it I could stick with it and graduate from college, I could leave that type of work behind forever.
I succeeded, as shall you.
I'm really sorry to hear about Amazon seeming to be such a hostile place - I buy a lot of books from them and thought that the vibes from their books were good. I thought it must be a super place to work. Do you think when you've been there a bit longer, and have colleagues you can whinge to about the conditions, some of the problems could be corrected, if only ecologically - saving heat etc?
