Homosexuality: who says it's nature? and who says it's nurture?

and why? can you backup your theory?

Answer:
Why does it matter?

I say that you are born that way and then others are experimenting. But let people do what they want and be who there are.
nurture.

if it was nature, there would be two same sex animals able to procreate. Natural means equals the production of life. If homosexuality was natural, then animals in nature could create babies with two of the same sex and so could humans.

Well, I think homosexuality is in the soul, so is nature.
its probably a mix of both. Some may be predisposed to homosexuality, and then environmental factors(ie. during fetal development, childhood) may trigger that way of development.
I don't think there is a gene that says your gay or not.
I don't really know--does anyone? Even back in Biblical days there was homosexuality. I think it is definitely a choice that people make, but what makes them have a tendency towards that choice is uncertain--I'm sure you will get both answers.
No, it's not natural. I personally believe that people make that choice to be a homosexual instead of being born with it. I read a book and it talked about how 5 boys were raised by no one by women. And although they were very feminine, none of them turned out to be gay. And here's another theory: " I RULE XD"
It's nature. There are animals that are homosexual & choose mates that are their own sex. Animals can't be influenced by "nurture" factors. Therefore, it's nature.

You can't "choose" to whom you're attracted any more than you can choose the color of your eyes. But you can choose to deny your attraction for numerous reasons. Not healthy though. You should be with the one you love. Sex is just a small part of that. But it is a part, unless you want to be celibate & just have friends. Which is possible, contrary to current cultural attitudes. But gay, straight, who cares? People should focus more on the quality of one's character and less on the nature of one's sexual relationship. If all the anti-gay groups put all that time, $ and energy into caring for children or the environment, the world would be much improved.

And my goodness - what a comparison group of "choices"! Murderer, rapist, circus clown (??) or rabbi?!?!? It takes all kinds to make a world, I guess - I just wish we didn't have to listen to them. :o)
I think your born with it, and u can't change it...

People are scared of the unknown.. I think the younger generation are learing to expent , but the people in their 40 ++ will never expept them. Just like our grandparents dont exept black people.Sorry i went off topic. Umm dont be ashamed of your sexuality. Umm someone should hide that because people are un comfy, people have the right to be happy !

Did't the bible say we where created in his image and likeness.. Yes i belive so.
Personally I believe its nature. We are not animals for gods sake and cannot be compared to them. We think and feel on an emotional level they do not. I absolutely refuse to believe that putting yourself through such hell (in most cases) through society and those who claim to love you (sometimes homosexuals lose their friends and family when they come out) is a choice of any kind. Why would someone want to be miserable like that when it would so much easier just to conform.
I think it's crap. It's only very recently that stuff like this has become acceptable. It's not nature!! This is no more than an exuse to be immorale and get away with it! Just like tons of other crap going on in society today.

And, the exuse . . "I was born that way"
Well, that's CRAP, CRAP, CRAP

Homosexuality is a CHOICE. Just like being a murderer, a rapist, a circus clown or a Rabbi. It's a choice each person makes. And, the most unnatural thing they could choose to do, in my opinion.
It's nature, of course it will happen in life.
I say it is what it is. My theory-that's just the way it is.
This topic was recently discussed in one of my classes. My professor was outraged, she explained that the mere fact of you trying to figure out whether homosexuality is nature or nurture makes you biased because you are trying to say homosexuality is of a lesser kind of people, by you trying to question where it came from you are trying to fix "the problem" and there is of course no problem with being homosexual.
You should watch the documentary "Born a boy, raised a girl".
In where a psychologist trys to explain that the way a child is raised (nurture) is the way he or she will act like . In this documentary the boy who was made to believe he was a girl and was raised in a feminine way, this little boy started feeling weird and not behaving lady like, instead he would borrow boy toys from his brother because he didn't feel comfortable playing with dolls; in this case nurture failed. In conclusion, it's not either nature or nurture, it's something else, probably their destiny, or something unexplicable,
I say it is nature because I have known personally two very little boys who were at least from the age of three. They exhibited all the traits of girls even at that young age. One was an only child and the other was one of three children in the family. My children went to school with a boy whose father was a Lutheran minister. There was no question in early high school where his sexuality was lying. He died of AIDs.
nurture.

God created us man and woman.

so.nurture??

if it is natural, why cant same sex reproduce? someone answer me plz ~!
I have no idea, and I really do not care because I think everyone should be able to determine what is best for them. However, I do know an older couple who had a daughter naturally and adopted a son. Both of these children are now in their 40's and have been homosexuals since they were old enough to understand, and are now in committed relationships. The daughter obtained sperm somewhere and impregnated herself. Her and her partner now have a 15 year old son. He is different mostly because of his way advanced intelligence - starting college in the fall, but I have no idea of what his sexual orientation is. I suppose you could make an argument either way based on this.
It is nature. I have always been a heterosexual male since birth. My sexuality will not change. Likewise, some males have always been homosexuals at birth.
