Answer:
I was in Haifa, Israel, and he walked through the marketplace, the same marketplace that I had been in for about 20 minutes now. He was about 50 yards away from me. He appeared to be about 50 years of age and he was bald-headed, but it was difficult to tell exactly how old he was because of the disease which had ravaged his otherwise healthy looking body. He was dressed in plain khaki pants and wore a white, short-sleeved shirt. He was carrying a package that had vegetables in it. He must have just purchased them at the marketplace. He had no friends, most likely people were a bit leery of getting too close to him, with the fear that they too might catch his dreaded disease. He didn't seem too clean - sort of greasy and unkempt in appearance. From the distance I was at I could tell that something was wrong with him but I was not sure as I could not see a lot of detail as he weaved wearily in and out of the crowd as if he did not want to be touched or noticed. Then, as he got closer to me I could see, in great detail, just what was wrong with him. He had lumps all over every inch of his body, at least the skin that was visable and not covered by clothes -- hands, arms, neck, face, head. It was as if he had hundreds of large marbles under every inch of his skin. Big knots all over his body. I wondered if the bumps were painful. I wondered if there was anything that could be done, medically speaking, to help this poor tortured soul. He walked through the crowd and gradually disappeared from my sight. I wish I knew what happened to him and how long he had been this way but I did not know. That was about 23 years ago and I remember the detail vividly still. David.
Not what you want but when I visualize scenes from movies I saw as a child, they are usually mirror imaged. Left to right, right to left. I am not dyslexic, however.
