What would feel worse, to live in perpetual doubt or pessimism?

Please make some comment about why you think so.
This is not just another dumb question. It is important to me because I am working on a scale of emotions.

Answer:
~~~ I also think living in perpetual pessimism would be worse. A pessimistic person has no hope of things turning out right because they already know everything will be rotton. Even if things turn out good they can always find a bad side to it. My Mother-In-Law is a perfect example of this type of behavior,and she isn't a pleasant person to be around. I am on the doubtful side but it's more of a self preservation type of thing.But at least I have hope and I can make a situation turn out well even if it wasn't what I had intended. To be in perpetual doubt would be much easier because with humor you can laugh at the outcomes. ~~~
I think perpetual pessimism is worse.
To doubt implies that things are being questioned. To be pessimistic means to presume the worst without necessarily thinking things through.
A person who is doubtful would likely accept a scenario where things turn out better than they expected. A pessimistic person would see a positive result as a negative one in disguise.
For me it would be perpetual pessimism, because to always have a negative outlook on life would be depressing. To have constant doubt is not so bad, because I already have that, I am able to question my beliefs on a daily basis and re-ascertain my bearings each day. And if some part of my belief system needs to be adjusted, then I work to do that. Then I question some more. This is not uncomfortable for me, as I know it allows me to grow and expand spiritually. But to be always pessimistic places constraints on my soul, and so that would be more painful for me.
I think that perpetual pessimism would be worst.
At least with perpetual doubt you are opening yourself up to questioning and learning. With pessimism you always think you KNOW what's going on, and may not necessarly learn from your esperiences.
