How much time is there usually in between a person's death and their funeral?

Answer:
Depends on the culture, and/or religion. Muslim if you die in the morning you body is washed and buried the same day, if you die in the evening you are buried the following morning. India. China, Japan of course cremation is how the body is disposed of. As far a time after death and disposal I believe sanitation is the major concern.
three days
3 days(i used a number)
Some in as little as 24 hours. Average being from 72 hours to 1 week. Sometimes longer dependent on pending autopsies, religious practices and or other circumstances.
From 3 days to a week.
It depends if there is a court battle on where the person should be buried. Hence, Anna Nicole Smith. Normal time is within a week after they passed.
It depends on the person's family's beliefs, if they have any particular rules, laws, religious standards etc., or the deceased's prior requests. If the death is natural then a funeral can go ahead anytime from the day of death to as long as the undertakers feel they can keep the body preserved. If there is foul play then the police and autopsies can delay a burial. If it means anything, I have found that the longer a body is kept from burial the more it costs the families to cater for the mourners and sympathisers. It also prolongs the anxiety of the pending funeral, but it's really up to the individuals.
It depends on the circumstances. If there are family coming from out of state it delays things a little. The 3 day answers you are getting are generally in the ballpark. My daughter died on a Friday and we had the service 8 days later. We thought Saturday gave more people a chance to attend.
around 2-3 days, unless you are Anna Nicole Smith
If you're Anna Nicole Smith, about 3 weeks!
