Common sense...?

Why is it when people don't want you to do something it makes you want to do it more?

(whatever it might be, anything)

Answer:
some of us don't like to be controlled, so we rebel by doing the opposite of what the controlling person wants.
That's what we call spite.

Each person has a different level of spite waiting inside of them to strike.

You ever watch Jerry Springer and see those chunky 16 year olds who are pregnant and have sex with 5+ guys a night? What is it that they say.? "You don't know me, do what I want!"

That's the stuff.
That's defiance and self assertion. You don't want other people telling you what to do and when they say not to do something your sense of self assertion is challenged and you step up to meet that challenge by wanting to go ahead and go through with whatever you've been warned against. Now the real challenge is to temper your self assertion with common sense and be able to control you impulses and stay safe and within the boundaries of polite society or you will only hurt yourself in the long run. Just because someone says 'no' and hurts your pride doesn't always mean that they are wrong.
People do that. If something is forbidden it makes us want it more. If someone tells us not to do it, we wonder why and it makes the idea of doing it more appealing.
Because you,{MADAM} have evolved,in a rebellious way. Father genes have influenced you.
some people dont like to be bossed around i guess. maybe? well good luck!

i dont know but i do notice that to be true
Some people are just contrary. Others have something to prove. Some like a challenge.

I found this to be especially true when I was a teenager, and my parents didn't want me to do something. I then had to go and do it. (Not the smartest thinking.)
I don't know what that is, but it is definately something real. I always feel more compelled to do something when it is "forbidden" lol. Interesting concept. Good question
Because we are all curious creatures. Psychologically speaking, even when dealing with memory, the more you want to forget something (supressing memories) theres an ironic effect in which youll remember it more. (sorry got side tracked). anyways, If someone tells you not to do something, we are egotistical and curious and unfortunately, need to learn things the hard way.
There might be some spite involved in some people's nature, but for most I think its just a sense of wanting to find out they whys and why nots and if someone tells you not to do something, you want to know what the consequence might be and why they are advising you not to.
