I am so mad! This guy is getting on my nerves. HELP?
Answer:
If the police do a check, they can deteremine which computer the thing was written from. Each computer has something called an IP address. When internet is being used, there are something called a default gateway, a subnet mask and proxy servers. An Ip address looks something like the following 123.45.672.10 . The same is true for the default gateway, subnet mask and proxy servers.
EVERY police department has someone that is good with computers or will get someone to help them that is good with computers, that doesn't have a criminal record, of course.
Hope this helps.
well...if it even goes that far you can always show them this question, then ask to take a lie detector test. No harm no foul right? I mean, if you really ARE innocent, hahaa.
send a request to myspace of ALL logins for your account from ALL ip addresses(ip is a specific address given to your computer, if any of them are different from you normal login computers, you have evidence.) you might also need to prove that it is not an ip that you can access.
if myspace says no, ask the poliece to force myspace to give you an ip address list.
if myspace does not keep a list (which i am sure that they do), try log in times if you guys have any form of proxy or anything.
Do nothing at this point in time. If they persist then tell whoever they get involved that another person had the password. Also provide motive for what happened, then you should be off the hook. But this is only my idea, take a bunch of the answers and make your own.
Seems like this issue can be resolved without the aid of police work. It is a family and friend dispute. Try solving the problem by getting together and talking things out or just try to stay away from each other.
it's myspace i really wouldn't worry about it. just delet the account.
For starters, if in fact you are innocent, you shouldn't give a crap what anyone else thinks, as people are perverted by their own ignorance. Secondly, if the police are getting involved, they can trace what computer it came from, and even if it were under your sn, it wouldn't mean anything, because hackers pull this ** all the time. I'm sure if the police were to become involved, a very formal investigation would ensue. As for these johns and amys, they don't seem to be people worth worrying over. Your personal strength will outweigh anything some asshole has to offer you, which seems to be a soap opera from 4th grade.
wow wow.. i dont know much about myspace but CPUGenius seems to... id take his advice. and the only thing i cant tell you is to not let what other people think of you bother you... as for the police getting involved you just have to take things as they come... best of luck.
Contact MySpace and get them to remove the site page. If they don't - cry and say you are going to the media- How much more bad press can they take?
