Answer:
how about planning for the new puppy.
#1 you can puppy proof your house...just like babies, puppies get into everything, so make sure your home will be safe for the new pup.
#2 make sure you have all the necessary supplies for a puppy. food and water bowls, a leash or two, a collar or harness, a few toys, a crate if you are going to crate train the puppy, a puppy first aid kit, etc.
#3 do you have a name yet? if not, get yourself a name for the puppy. you can look at baby name websites online as a place to start.
#4 start reading all kinds of info online. look for websites on how to train your puppy to go potty outside, how to walk on a leash, follow commands like:come, sit, stay.
you can read up on common medical problems for that breed of dog so you can recognize symptoms of the illnesses early
#5 do you already have a vet? if not, don't wait until puppy gets sick to have to find one last minute. talk to people you know who have had animals a long time and find out who they use and if they are happy with them. check with the better business bureau to make sure no one has filed any complaints against the vet's office.
#6 who will be grooming your pup? baths are easy, but what about hair cuts and cutting nails and such? time to research a groomer.
#7 SLEEP.remember the puppy will wake you up in the middle of the night to go outside and such, so sleep now while you still can.
This is a good lesson for you to practice patience. Many people lose out in their life because they have to have everything NOW. This quest for instant gratification only creates losers. No one goes to college, or learns a trade because they want to make their money now. Many kids drop out of school because they want to make money to buy that shiny ride. But in the end, they get nothing in the long term out of life and finally realize this at age 40 when it could be too late because all the competition is now 20 and has a sharper mind and more energy. So.......my point: Wait on the puppy, and learn to wait on other rewards.
