What reassurances do you require that you're 'on the right track'?
Answer:
Great question,
I think I have a few different gages that let me know if I am in tune with my core.
1. The ok I know I am on the right path feeling.
When things are easy, and situations and people are placed before me with little or no effort.
2. The "ahh man I don't want to" feeling. This usually kicks in when I have a challenge in front of me that I know I can't weasel out of and that will be good for me in the long run.
3. The sorry what did you say feeling, this usually happens one someone says something that is going to shift my core beliefs of thinking. when I can't seem to get what some one is saying means that it is probably a place of learning for me.
4. the I am on FunQA.com and I should be doing something else feeling. This sums up, when I know I have numbed out of the world and the things I need to do, and I am in la la land. This means that I am not being conscious of the moment, and not moving from my core!
Not when I am answering your questions of course!
I am sure there are more but I know these ones well!
If it makes you happy and doesn't cause pain to others then it is probably the right thing to do. Also follow your gut instinct, whenever I follow my gut instinct I am always right.
No role models, or mantras, thank you. Observing my positive progress, ALWAYS listening to my intuition. You KNOW when you're on the right track. (Unless, of course, you are delusional.)
None, really, though support from those whose opinions I respect can be helpful. But eventually I reckon we all must hoe our own row. That's how we get the confidence to go on hoeing in spite of the lumps. So in times of doubt I declare the mantra we always use on my boat when the going gets rough, or unfamiliar rocky shores threaten "Stand on quietly, and all will be revealed". There are so many tracks in life, and so many could be "right" by how you judge them when you're on them, that I've always reckoned whatever I'm on is "right enough" wherever it leads. I deliberately missed some spectacular roads that way, but I'm glad to be where I am. The way here was a long way round rather than a freeway - and it was fascinating.
Hi Patzky,
For me it has to come from within. If I feel at ease with myself, where I am, where I am going, then I know I’m on the right track. I have been through dark times spiritually and these lasted years until I came through it with a new awareness of who I was, what I believed in and a stronger sense of purpose. I cannot depend on anyone else to tell me I’m going in the right direction because how would they know? They have enough to deal with finding their own life path. I can and will however be guided by others who know me well if I veer slightly off course and something they say makes me realise this. Essentially it's up to me and the reassurance comes from deep within.
