at work, i have a fascination of reading serial killer, rapist, kidnapper on wikipedia.org. it just fascinates me and i picture and imagine these people actually committing these crimes. i love to read serial killer biography such as ted bundy, boston strangler, freeway killer, etc. my favorite channel is court tv - forensic files. i never like to read anything... but these criminals really interests me and i can read their story/investigation for hours without falling asleep. am i bound to be serious murderer in the future b/c i do these things? do i need help? or am i juss bored at work?

unless you fantasize about doing these things yourself, i don't think you're in trouble. i too have a fascination for these types of things, mostly because i can't fully understand how and why people would do such things. keep in mind, how many of us love to watch horror movies and tv shows like forensic files? a lot. and not all of us are out there going on killing sprees.
You might want to talk to a professional just to put your mind at rest.
Just the fact that you're asking this question means you probably don't have to worry about being a serial killer. Maybe you're supposed to be in a forensic career. You're not the only one, obivoulsy if there's somebody writing these books, and others reading them. I used to be very fascinated by these people to and love watching Cold Case files or CIty confidential, but I they also freak me out too, so I have to watch myself because I have a very active imagination.
That's how it starts my man, you are right on the target. Keep up the bad reading and you'll get there in no time.

I do the same thing, I read about all the famous killers, it fascinates me from a psycological perspective to attempt to understand what causes people to do such things. I love CSI, Court TV and horror movies and I wait for the most annoying person to get killed and then I'm happy about it cause I want them out of the movie. But I certainly know that I would never kill someone, that is completely different from having an interest in these things.
I myself have the same fascination that you do,we watch the same shows we read and have interests in reading the same material,so what may make you the next serial murder and leave me an intrigued house wife is the"mind set"

People often become that which they allow to fill their minds. Simply reading about murderers does not make you such. The three components above would have to be combined. You would first have to have a Desire to Kill someone. This can come about through having a morbid obsession to know what it would be like. This CAN be stimulated from the works you are choosing to occupy your thoughts with. After forming the Desire, you would have to then make a Choice to follow up on the Desire. Choices can often be cancelled by making a choice to against a former choice. Once a choice is made, then you will have to Act upon the Choice. Without Action, then really a choice has not been made to follow a certain path.
So as you see, reading is not all that goes into making you what you are. Everyone thinks differently and occupies their thoughts differently. A Person with a Porn obsession does not neccessarily become a Porn Star. An avid Reader of the Bible does not neccessarily become a Preacher.
It's all up to What you Desire you Chose to Act upon.
I hope the answer is not too general, because I do know everyone is different, however, I did want to point out that you have the power of Choice and how you consciously use it determines who you are/will be.
You need to ask yourself some questions.
1. Do you fantasize about committing the crimes yourself?
2. Do you think that these people were hero's,villains, or just not understood?
If you are fantasizing about them, yes you do have some issue's. If you think they were not understood and hero's, yes you do have some issue's.
But, most importantly, get back to work. Big bother is always watching computer use. It will come back to haunt you.
as long as you are not fantasizing about doing the murder or feeling it...you are just morbidly curious...some people just like learning about things that are not a part of their lives...give it time...it will pass and you will move on...
