Depressed upon returning from vacation?
Answer:
I know how you feel...It used to happen to me when you go back and are screwed over by harsh reality of everything you dread.
Do everything in your power to move to where you truly want to be. But if you are forced to live in AZ, think of all and any things to hate about CA and like about your old home. And reverse the psychology by looking forward to a place, a girl, a food there.
Create something to look forward to when you're going away. For instance, you could tell yourself that when you get back, you'll buy yourself something you've always wanted. Or go somewhere you enjoy. Think of the things that you like about Arizona instead of the things that you hate, and your outlook will be more positive.
Depression is lack of hope. Find something to get excited about. YOU must do something about it. Blaming your parents will only continue to make you into a "victim" and feel helpless.
Welcome to adulthood.
Move back.
I agree that you should work toward living where you would be happy, but until you are able to do that you have to keep a positive mind frame. I always hate it when people say this, but you really can change your mood by chaning the way you think of things. That will take a lot of positive self talk.
You should try to do things that you know that you will enjoy doing. Hobbies and such. Surround yourself with your friends and people that support you and make you laugh. Go out with them, hang out, talk - social interaction will help with depression.
Try moving to Cali :) I am from AZ too and I just got back from a week in Encinitas, CA and I am feeling really DOWN. If I lived there I could see myself hardly ever feeling the way I do now. With my job I am stuck here in Phoenix. I am going to stash as much as I can away into a 401k and hopefully when time to retire comes around I can move there. If you have a felixible job or are young, take the plunge and move. Your enviroment has SO much to do with your attitude. Heck see if you can stay with one of your sisters until you get settled. If I weren't married and so settled in Phx I would leave!! Good luck :)
